Meet Darque, a breathtakingly beautiful and exceptionally kind 17-year-old Lusitano gelding imported from Portugal and bred by Monte Velho, one of the top Lusitano breeding facilities. Darque is a seasoned Grand Prix competitor with a decorated career, including multiple year-end awards in the open division at the Grand Prix level. Notably, Reserve Champion for USDF All Breeds in 2021. Not only is Darque a proven competitor, but he’s also a confidence-building partner. He has safely guided his Adult Amateur owner through Fourth Level and has been instrumental in developing her skills through all Prix St. Georges and Grand Prix movements. Darque and his owner earned the Master’s Challenge award at both 3rd and 4th level. Darque is forward-thinking, responsive, and a joy to ride, offering an easy leg response and a comfortable, sit-able gait. His talent shines brightest in the piaffe and passage, where he truly excels. Whether you’re aiming to achieve your medals or simply want to train and master FEI movements at home, Darque has so much to offer. He works beautifully in both double and snaffle bridles, making him versatile for riders of different preferences. Special Notes: As a senior athlete, Darque does require maintenance to continue performing at higher levels and does not have perfect X-rays.
